This is an every Saturday cleaning opportunity from June through October and one or two alternate day or evening opportunities through mid-October. General Purpose Maintain a clean, sanitary, comfortable and attractive environment for four seasonal cottages located between Jacksonport and Baileys Harbor, WI
Overview This is a Saturday position only for June through mid-October. Workload changes each week depending upon check ins and check outs and may involve cleaning two, three or four cottages/homes between 10am and 2pm but it is a requirement that the Associate be available EVERY Saturday during the season. Additional opportunities may be available for mid-week during October when long weekend rentals are available, however these are limited to one or two occasions. These too are based upon check ins and may fluctuate by week and we strive to schedule so cleaning can be done on Saturdays. Rental schedules are established well in advance, so a published cleaning schedule will be available at the beginning of the season with minimal anticipated changes.
Ideally, this person is also available for longer weekend hours during May for our spring cleaning which includes comprehensive cleaning of all four cottages.
This position is an independent contractor and will be issued a 1099 at year end. Because of this status, the Associate must provide a portion of their own cleaning supplies, but many of the necessary tools and supplies can be provided by Olson Cottages.
The Property
Each unit contains up to 3 bedrooms and 1 bathroom. Each unit has a full kitchen, living room and our largest contains a large wrap around enclosed porch. Two of the units are log cabins, which require additional dusting/cleaning on a weekly basis.
Main Job Tasks, Duties and Responsibilities
General cleaning of all rooms, to include cleaning floors (vinyl and carpet), dusting furniture and walls and ceiling beams, cleaning kitchens, including appliances, bathroom fixtures, including glass shower doors and floors.
Empty and clean trash and recycling containers
Clean glass surfaces as needed
Fold blankets and place on shelves
Change pillow covers on a weekly basis
Change throw rugs on a weekly basis
Change mattress pads twice during season
Check cleanliness of dishes and wash as needed, straighten drawers and cabinets where necessary.
Remove fireplace ashes, as needed
Wipe down outdoor furniture
Sweep doorsills and adjoining entries and decks. Replace doormats in original position
Undertake final inspection to ensure unit is fully guest ready
Monitor and report necessary repairs and replacements
Knowledge and Experience
Knowledge of cleaning and sanitation products, techniques and methods
Working knowledge of operating cleaning equipment
Physical stamina and mobility including ability to reach, kneel and bend
Ability to lift, push and pull required load (usually under 30lbs)
Associate must have previous cleaning experience, ideally in a hospitality setting
