While our address is Baileys Harbor, Olson Cottages is located in Jacksonport and is just 2.5 miles north of the actual town on State Highway 57. Whether through a short car ride, a long walk on the beach or a bike ride, the trip to Jacksonport will yield some great food options.
A big part of Jacksonport's charm is that it still feels like a true small-town community. Instead of large chains, you'll find locally owned businesses where visitors quickly feel like regulars. Island Fever Restaurant Just across from Jacksonport’s Lakeside Park, Island Fever has become one of Jacksonport's most popular gathering spots. Known for its indoor and outdoor dining atmosphere, seafood, steaks, Mexican specialties, cocktails, and Saturday night fish boils, it's a great place to relax after a day exploring the shoreline. Their outdoor tiki bar and ice cream shack add to the summer-vacation vibe. Wally's Weenie Wagon – The Restaurant This is a new favorite, just opening this Spring. What began as one of Door County's favorite food trucks has grown into a permanent Jacksonport restaurant. Wally's specializes in authentic Chicago-style hot dogs, Italian beef, gyros sliced directly from the spit, fresh-cut fries, burgers, breakfast sandwiches, and scratch bakery items. In addition, Wally’s serves a great breakfast from big homemade biscuit sandwiches to the must-try Breakfast Weenie and the larger-than-for-one Breakfast Poutine. It's become a favorite stop for both locals and visitors looking for casual comfort food done right. Tracy and Wally will definitely make you feel at home! Scotty's Pub + Grub Formerly Mike’s Port Pub, Scott’s is the latest in a long history of great food and drink in this location. One of Jacksonport's newer additions, Scotty's has quickly become a neighborhood gathering place. With burgers, broasted chicken, pizza, local beer, cocktails, and a relaxed atmosphere, it's the kind of place where visitors often find themselves sitting next to locals swapping fishing stories and Door County recommendations. An added bonus is the outdoor seating area. Bley's Grocery For over 70 years, Bley's has been much more than a grocery store. It's one of the last traditional rural groceries remaining in Door County and a place where locals stop for supplies, conversation, and some of the area's most famous homemade sausages and legendary, must-try brats. If you're planning a cottage cookout, this should be your first stop. Say Hi to Wayne and Paula when you visit. Experience Jacksonport Like a Local The best Jacksonport days aren't packed with activities. They're spent visiting Cave Point in the morning, picking up brats from Bley's for the grill, grabbing lunch at Wally's, watching the waves roll in along Lake Michigan in front of your cottage, and ending the evening with dinner at Island Fever, a drink with friends at Scotty's, or a cookout at your cottage. This is just part of the Jacksonport we know and love—simple, authentic, wonderfully Door County, and the place Olson Cottages calls home.
